What We Stand For

Evangelism

We are committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world with clarity, compassion, and conviction. Our mission begins with sharing the good news wherever God opens the door.

Missions

We stand with those who carry the gospel beyond our walls, equipping believers to go, support, and serve in the name of Christ, both locally and globally.

Spiritual Living

We believe true discipleship is reflected in daily life. Through obedience to God’s Word and dependence on the Holy Spirit, we strive to live lives that honor Christ in every area.

Have Questions? We have Answers.

LABTS is a non-denominational Bible training institution dedicated to teaching God’s Word with clarity and depth. Our mission is to equip believers for effective ministry in their local churches and communities by providing quality biblical education rooted in sound doctrine.

Anyone with a genuine desire to study Scripture is welcome to attend. Our students include pastors, ministry leaders, new believers, and mature Christians seeking to grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

LABTS offers three programs of study:

1. Bible Merit Certificate – For those completing a smaller group of foundational courses.

2. Biblical Studies Certificate – For students completing 12 classes (24 units).

3. Bible Diploma – Our most comprehensive program for those pursuing in-depth theological training.

Each class costs $100 per course, with an additional cost for textbooks. Online class textbooks are purchased during registration, while in-person students buy their books at the first class meeting. LABTS is committed to keeping tuition affordable so that every believer can pursue biblical education.

Most students complete the Bible Diploma in about four years, taking two classes per semester. You may finish sooner or later depending on how many courses you take each term.

LABTS operates on a Fall and Spring semester schedule, with most classes meeting on weeknights or weekday mornings. There are also occasional Weekender courses (Friday evening and Saturday morning) and online classes via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

In-person classes meet at one of three locations:

Main Campus: 2008 E. 87th St., Los Angeles, CA 90002

Whittier Extension: First Fundamental Bible Church, 11000 Washington Blvd., Whittier CA 90606

Inglewood Extension: Fairview Heights Baptist Church, 1215 Marlborough Ave., Inglewood

Online classes are conducted via Zoom.

Registration can be completed online at www.labts.org or in person on the first day of class. Online registration is recommended for all students, and payment can be made by debit, credit, or check.

LABTS upholds the historical doctrines of the Christian faith: the inspiration and authority of Scripture, the deity of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, and the call for every believer to live a life of holiness and service. Our doctrinal statement provides a detailed summary of these beliefs, ensuring all teaching is biblically grounded.

You can partner with LABTS by enrolling in classes, attending conferences, or supporting the ministry financially. Donations help provide affordable tuition, maintain campus facilities, and expand online learning opportunities.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Los Angeles Bible Training School is to come alongside of local churches to train the people of God in the Word of God to do the work of God to the glory of God.

LABTS seeks to be a blessing to the local churches that God has placed in the greater Los Angeles area. We desire to provide each student with a systematic study of God’s Word that is living, effective, cutting, penetrating, and discerning (Hebrews 4:12). The goal of the study of the Word of God is that the student might be committed to serving God.

We praise God that LABTS has trained pastors, associate pastors, Sunday School and Children’s Church teachers, deacons, deaconesses, missionary workers, etc. Such service is to be for the glory and honor of our great God!

As a non-denominational institution, we are dedicated to the task of instructing Christian workers in the word of God. Without regard to denominational affiliation or racial heritage, LABTS endeavors to present each student with an opportunity to prepare for effective Christian service. The school proposes to work in harmony with local churches in the ministry of teaching the Word of God.

Our Mission

The Los Angeles Bible Training School operates at the Bible institute level. We are not a Bible college, nor are we a seminary. We teach some of the same courses that are taught at a Bible college and at a seminary, but the level of our teaching is different. A seminary provides education for graduates students, while a college offers education for the high school graduate who is pursuing a college degree. At LABTS, our level of education is a step below what is offered at a Bible college.

LABTS believes the Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, is the Word of God. It is without error in its original manuscripts and is authoritative for the belief and behavior of the child of God. Our mission is to teach the Bible in a systematic and orderly fashion. The instruction is designed for the head (knowledge), for the heart (affections and emotions), and for the hands (action). Biblical truth is to inform the mind and transform the life.

At the core of the mission of LABTS is the Bible. We like the name of our institution because at the center of our name and curriculum is “Bible.” We are committed to teaching God’s Word, which He has founded forever (Psalm 119:152).
